What We Do
At The Rockhill Cooking Academy we cook, learn about ingredients, learn the history of meals and dishes and study and prepare foods. We study the botanical legacies of plants and incorporate all of that new knowledge into a fabulous menu. We spend most of the time preparing foods we've learned about, and some of the time eating and having a blast!
All recipes have been tested and are healthy and delicious. Each class focuses on a unique theme that has been developed especially for kids and young adults. By learning to choose seasonal all organic fruits and vegetables along with a good foundation of simple recipes, anyone can be a chef!
• Fall Classes:
Saturday, September 27th: Rice, Around the World Join us to study to propagation of rice, the different types of rice and learn a few basic and interesting recipes all using various types of rice... guaranteed to impress your parents!
Thursday, October 23rd: SMH Day Off! Southern Italian Pizza One of our favorite classes! SMH students have the day off, we will be making pizza, Southern Style- very different from Northern Italian pizza. Join us to learn some of Naples finest recipes!
Saturday, November 15th: Fall and Holiday Baking Two quick breads, one yeast bread and one cookie recipe are on the menu for this class- one of my student's parent's favorites, with full bags of treats to take home! Great gift giving ideas!
Monday, December 22nd: Brunch Menus- by popular demand! We had such success last year with our kids preparing brunch during the holidays based on our carefully planned menus and shopping lists, we are going to do it again- all NEW menus, techniques and more!
